Carlisle dream team Uber will be at the Wickerman Festival’s Bass Camp this year. We caught up for a quick chat with Uber’s Matt Tyson to talk all things Wickerman.

Have you played at The Wickerman Festival before?
No, but as a promoter I have helped book some of the main acts for the Bass camp over the last five years. My best memory would be from two years ago; Jay and Kev smashing the tent before Hot Chip, and falling over in a hole in front of everyone before I’d even had a drink.

What can the crowd expect from your set?
Nothing other than me skulking around and falling off the back of the stage. Oh, and some poor dancing

This is the Wickerman’s tenth anniversary. Can you remember what you were doing ten years ago?
Yes partying hard and starting to do my first nights

Have you had chance to look at the rest of The WIckerman line-up? Anyone else you’re looking forward to seeing?
James for me! One of my all time favourite bands. And Krafty Kuts is great fun.

What’s your top festival survival tip?
Don’t carry protein powder into festivals EVER.

What summer tunes are really working well for you at the moment?
Anything on Hot Creations, Black Rose (Jesse and Henrick) Anthem And Thyladomid - The Voice (Original Mix) IS A BEAST!!!

If you were DJing at the end of the world party and the moment was upon us, what would be the last track you’d ever play?
Thomas Banglater : 'Together'.

What have been your personal and professional highlights of the past few years?

Becoming a Dad which is ace, booking my heroes DJ Sneak and Derrick Carter, and Uber getting an Essential Mix on Radio One which was a huge honour. Also all being in a position to meet some great people and hear some amazing music.

What are you hoping the next few years will bring?
More parties, more music, more firsts and some big headliners

What makes a great DJ?
Someone who can read a crowd, play with a groove and surprise you.
