In what is their biggest line up to date, High Definition have pulled out all the stops to make their 5th anniversary a party to remember. Widely regarded as one of the most progressive electronic music festivals in Europe, a formidable arsenal of live music and DJs convene at the festival's new location at Hop Farm between the 5th and 6th of September.

With the likes of Luciano (read our arena focus here), Matrix & Futurebound, Darius Syrossian, Danny Howard, Breach, and Eddie Halliwell all involved, there's an awful lot to look forward to for lovers of house, techno, drum & bass, trance and more. We've narrowed it down to the five acts we're most hyped for.

Josh Wink

The Philadelphian techno legend was one of the last acts to be added to HD's line up, and what an addition it is. A true master of acid-tinged house and techno, Wink has enjoyed a career spanning over twenty years, littered with milestone releases from 'Higher State of Consciousness' back in 1995 to his latest bomb 'Denial'. Expect to be mesmerised by one of the scene's most singular artists.

Glimpse

Cutting his teeth in the minimal techno scene in 2004, Glimpse has gone on to enjoy immense success with a sound that's flexed between off kilter electronica and floor destroying tech house.

His last two releases on Aus have been particularly banging, whilst his recent alliance with Alex Jones as part of Dense & Pika has seen him become one of the UK's most revered techno producers. Dense & Pika also appear on on the Weird & Wonderful stage on the same day.

Wookie

One of the true UK garage pioneers, Wookie has been a constant force in UK music since the dawn of the nineties, working closely with artists like Jazzie B and Dynamite MC before turning his hand to the fledgling UK garage scene, in which he wrote some of the genre's most seminal records. Check out the brilliant 'Battle' above.

London Elektricity

There's no shortage of drum & bass at High Definition this year, with Matrix & Futurebound, Fabio & Grooverider and The Prototypes amongst the wielders of bass heavy exploits. But for us, London Elektricty is the artist we most recommend.

Now in his 16th year in the business, the Hospital Records mainstay can easily switch it up between modern, euphoric sounds of the genre as well as a more classic, darker edge, making for one hell of a ride and an essential experience for any self respecting d&b head.

Catz N' Dogz

The Polish duo are two of the finest selectors working in bass heavy house and techno. Their fun loving nature shines through in their DJ sets, laying down off kilter tech house productions with plenty of dancefloor heft primed for hedonistic raving. Their label Pets Recordings also happens to be the best imprints out there. Check out their set at Movement Detroit above to see why we're big fans of Catz N' Dogz.
