"It's all about the massive 'How I feel' featuring Ayak on this tasty four tracker. Ace neo soul come hip hop jam with conscious lyrics making superb content and the delivery is bang on point. Big horns and a wicked break lead the way as Ayak pours her lyrical honey over the top.
Elsewhere the laid back and jazzy 'That Girl' features Charlie Brown and Yungun, 'Set it off' sees Skinnyman & Tali droping their flow over phat beats and a classical break, whilst 'Help them' featuring Blak Twang is a heavy track with an infectious hook that stays stuck in your head for days!
Ace UK hip hop that is up there with the very best. Chances are you have heard First Man before - you might just not know it yet!" - Mr Mutdog (
The lowdown...
Emerging UK production team First Man are well on their way to establishing themselves amongst the UK's best producers. First Man has a sound that is recognisable yet versatile, blending live instruments and soulful samples with cutting edge beats.

Taking their influences from legends from the likes of Brian Wilson and Barry White as well as modem era hip-hop producers like Jay-Dee and Dr Dre, the pairings first release, 'Thinking Out Loud' out on independent label Silent Soundz demonstrates the pairings musical abilities, announcing them as a powerful production partnership.
As well as featuring the BBC Radio 1-Xtra A listed track 'How I Fee feat. Ayak, the E.P. features new work from the pairing with guests Skinnyman, Tali and Blak Twang who hit the beats with their own unique styles. New soul star in the making Charlie Brown is featured on the track 'That Girl' alongside Yungun, and allows First Man to show another side to their ever advancing production prowess.

Formed in 2001, First Man consists of Adam Midgley and Jamie Reddington. Originally, members of a guitar band playing lead and bass respectively, Adam and Jamie have been writing music together since meeting at school. After making the transition to production, the initial breakthrough for First Man came in the UK Hip-Hop scene when they provided tracks for Skinnyman on his cult classic LP 'Council Estate QJ Mind'and gg Wlagx's 'Black Market Boy'. The Skinnyman track 'Day To Day Basis'was one of the first tracks they ever produced abd was featured in the hit motion picture Kidulthood in summer 2006.

During a hectic two years First Man have begun developing their own acts, started work on their own album project and have gone on to produce for some of the UK's hottest underground and most established artists as well as beginning their assault on the US hip hop scene. After working heavily with Sony BMG star Lemar on his 2nd platinum selling LP (Time To Grow' including the biggest hit to date 'If There's Any Justice) First Man have co-written material for his new LP 'The Truth About Love', Lemars third consecutive top 10 album.

Gilles Peterson's new label 'Brownswood Recordings'- launched summer 2006 - is set to release the forthcoming first compilation 'Brownswood Bubblers', which features material from First Man and Ayak and is a hotly tipped showcase of new music hand picked by Gilles himself.

Going from strength to strength, October 2006 saw the release of First Man's first collaboration with an American artist... After a chance meeting, First Man produced 'Can We Go Back', a track on the long awaited Hi-Tek album 'Hi-Teknologypt.2' and featured the lyrical talent of Talib Kweli.

So, with DJs and tastemakers like Gilles Peterson, Ace & Invisible and Ras Kwame championing their music, and even the US hip hop fraternity starting to knock on their door, First Man are one production team you need to keep an eye out for.
