Europe's premier New Music event, Reeperbahn Festival, has announced the first acts ready to set the stages of Hamburg's venues alight this September.

With months to go before the event at the end of September, the festival already features an enviable line-up of talent from across the world.

Acts so far announced include Blood Red Shoes, Stornoway, Wolf Parade, This Will Destroy You, Young Rebel Set, Babylon Circus and The Black Box Revelation.

Each year the festival takes over more than 30 clubs, bars, concert halls and theatres across the expansive cultural district of the Reeperbahn, turning a major part of Hamburg into a haven for music lovers. Known as the area in which The Beatles perfected their craft before hitting the big time (and the place they first discovered sex and drugs), the Reeperbahn is a cultural haven, as well as a party hotspot.

Last year's Reeperbahn Festival saw Biffy Clyro, Dinosaur Jr. and Editors play alongside rising acts including Dananananaykroyd, Future of the Left and The Cinematics.

With further big names and rising stars still to be announced, this year's festival looks set to cement Reeperbahn Festival Hamburg as one of the year's most important new music events.

A 3-Day all-venues festival pass costs just €59, and flights are regular, direct, and reasonably priced from London airports.
