Sam Duckworth aka Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. has been a busy boy since donning his cape back in 2004, and in the time between then and now has released five albums under his most favoured moniker, two under his own name and one as Recreations.
Duckworth is arguably best known for get Get Cape's debut album, The Chronicles of a Bohemian Teenager, which is best described as an indie/folk/electronic fusion. The album made the top 100 albums of 2006 lists of Q and NME. It reached number 26 on the official UK album chart and spawned three top 40 singles.
As a result of this, in January 2007, Duckworth was nominated for best solo artist at the annual NME Awards, up against Lily Allen, Jamie T, Jarvis Cocker and Thom Yorke, and while he didn't win then his debut has gone on to become one of the '00s much loved records.
Young Adult, his latest studio offering and sixth Get Cape album, dropped in January through Xtra Mile Recordings, with singles including 'Adults/Always', 'Just A Phase', 'DNA' and 'VHS Forever'. It's this new record, and his impressive back catalogue that Duckworth will soar through as Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. comes to Liverpool's EBGBs for a seriously intimate show on Friday 4th May.
