No Gloss Film Festival - the "rebels of the film festivals" circuit returns for its 5th annual edition in Leeds, with an emphasis on sticking to their roots - essentially, returning to the DIY underground whence they came and celebrating films that exhibit the same spirit.
This 22-23 October 2016, No Gloss Film Festival will takeover Canal Mills - the 18th century former textile-mill known for its music events that are popular with electronic music lovers. Exhibiting its FILMS UNLIKE ANYTHING YOU HAVE EVER SEEN programme, attendees will be treated to the festival's signature curation of strange, beautiful, weird, powerful, shorts, docs and features from around the world as well as film discussion panels for those eager to learn some useful film-making hints and tips. View the 2016 official selection here.
Joining the street-food line-up is the award-winning Manjit's Kitchen, serving up authentic Indian street-food as well as Wood Fire Dine an artisan mobile pizzeria providing hand-made traditional Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizzas. All food on offer will have vegetarian and vegan options available. View the onsite street-food here.
To round it all off, the film festival has organised a chilled-out afterparty and networking session at the esteemed Northern Monk Refectory at Marshall's Mills. This is happening once the last film ends on the Saturday and all film festival attendees receive a 10% off when they show their wristbands at the networking bar.
