Founded in 2020, Daytimers is the South Asian music collective that pays homage to the daytime parties that happened throughout the 80s and 90s in the UK, where young South Asians partied to bhangra, jungle, garage and more.
Daytimers have resurged to platform and celebrate the new generation of British-South Asian DJs, producers, culture and stories with festivals, raves and parties. They have announced that they are celebrating their 6th Birthday on Saturday, 29th August in Number 90 Bar Hackney Wick.
Across the day, Daytimers will be celebrating pioneering and emerging South Asian DJs with intergenerational B2Bs playing both classics and innovative sounds. The day event will have genre-spanning music from across the globe with the intention of showcasing sounds that are rooted in community and culture.
The lineup includes Robert Luis, DJ Ritu, Rohan Rakhit, Raji Rags, Mithun Squarewave, Ishu Bad Beh, Kizzi Naina and Karishma.
