The Droitwich Go Bright for Sight 5K Colour Run is returning for a 4th year on Sunday 1st July at an exciting new venue ? Churchfields Farm, Salwarpe. Families, friends and colleagues can get together to run, jog, walk or dance their way through brightly coloured Paint Stations and encounter super-soakers and bubbles! Starting off dressed in white, everyone will be covered in paint and smiles by the time they reach the finish line, whilst raising money for county charity Sight Concern Worcestershire.

Gillian Kerton from Churchfields says, ?We?re thrilled to be hosting the Go Bright for Sight Colour Run. It?s such a happy and memorable event that brings the community together to have fun and raises funds for a special local sight loss charity. Our farm is famous for ice cream made from our own cows milk. We?ve decided to make a special ice cream to celebrate Sight Concern as our Charity of the Year. The Sight Concern logo is very colourful so we?re planning to use as many of the colours as possible in our unique recipe.? She added, ?We can?t wait for people to try it. The ice cream will be available from 1st June 2018?

Physique Fitness, Bootcamp Droitwich and Julie Liggins Fitness have been actively supporting the Go Bright for Sight Colour Run for the last few years. Steve Sherry from Bootcamp Droitwich says ?It?s become an important part of our fitness calendar. Last year we recruited over 100 runners and this year we?re hoping to double it! We organise the new 5K Saturday morning run at Churchfields which is proving to be popular, so holding the Go Bright for Sight Colour Run there too is a perfect fit.?

Jenny Gage, Chief Officer of the charity, says, ?The Droitwich Go Bright for Sight Colour Run is open to all ages ? and to walkers aswell as runners. Last year over 500 people took part and the charity raised over £6,000. She added, ?Anyone with a visual impairment will be particularly welcome. Sight Concern will be recruiting sighted guides to enable people with sight loss to participate, and be an active part of their local community. Thank you to Droitwich Athletics Club for their wonderful support with the route and marshalling.?

Early bird entry fees (until 31st May, 2018), include Paint Stations, entertainment and a pair of sunglasses, are £15 adults, £7.50 children (age three and under free). A family ticket (2 adults and 2 children) is £35 (*a Skiddle booking fee applies*). Tickets need to be booked in advance. The entry fee helps towards the cost of putting on the event. We ask participants to raise as much money as possible to help our work, supporting local blind and partially sighted people to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
