There's a mere 23 days left until St Nick's day, so if you've yet to purchase your presents then we are here to help you. After last week's guide looked at the older gig goer, this time round we're throwing the focus entirely on options for you to buy for your better half. All things considered this is the present you will need to get right more than any other, so we've got three options which show you care this year much more than limp flowers, smelly liquids or bad clothes ever will.

Loopallu Festival

If you want to plump for a different festival experience in 2014 you could do a lot worse than Loopallu up in Scotland. Situated in the stunning confines of Ullapool 57 miles north of Inverness, Loopallu pretty much defines the joy of intimacy only boutique festivals can offer, with a line-up that year upon year manages to increase their stature on the festival circuit.

Right at the end of Festival season, Loopallu has managed to secure plaudits from The Observer, Sunday Times, Grazia and the Scotsman, with previous guests including Mumford & Sons, Codeine Velvet Club, Paulo Nutini, Jake Bugg, The Buzzcocks, The Undertones, Idlewild and The Magic Numbers, with 2013's soiree headlined by The View and The Beat.

There's traditional camping options available but plenty of accommodation in Ullapool as well, meaning you can splash the cash and get somewhere with a roof over your head to make sure you aren't caught out in the cold should the weather not hold out. Better yet you could make a proper holiday out of it and tag on some time int he nearby highlands - head here for tourist ideas in West Scotland. You can find out more about the festival as well by heading here.

Electric Elephant

If you really want to think outside the box for your music loving partner, what better way than to book them a holiday on the Adriatic shores? The beautiful village of Tisno has become the centre point in recent years for a collective of promoters pushing a soul drenched vision of electronic music, and the Electric Elephant festival has epitomised this surge forward. They've been combining a glorious mixture of house, techno, disco and every form of music in between for the perfect midway experience between rave and relaxation.

Helmed by the infamous minds behind Manchester’s much vaunted Electric Chair (their End of Year Riot is also worth your attention), the festival has featured the likes of Andrew Weatherall, Frankie Knuckles, Mr Scruff, Derrick Carter and many more greats of electronic music. What makes EE and Tisno so special though is the fact it's essentially a holiday experience with a festival added on.

Tisno is truly gorgeous (if you want to find out why read what our editor had to say when he went this summer), and the additional boat parties mean you can stagger just how much of the festival you get involved with. You can run down the accommodation options here, which range from on site camping to your own luxury villa or apartment. Electric Elephant takes place form 10th - 14th July 2014.
