Birmingham gets a brand new clubbing experience on October 3rd, when Chords unleashes its bold first party at Digbeth's LAB11.

Billed as a night that will be 'full of surprises and big names', Chords have delivered just that, by hand selecting a number of underground bass music's most singular forces to kick off their party in emphatic fashion. 

At the top of the bill comes the propulsive, foot forward UK garage, bass and deep house of xxxy. The Manchester born auteur has made a name for himself over the past six years, with his exploits into a wealth of different genres finding homes on Halo Cyan, Ten thousand Yen and most recently the mighty Rinse.

Whether he's exploring Chicagoan footwork, warehouse flavoured electro or straight up modern deep house, xxxy always brings a fresh approach to his craft, with crisp production skills nestling with enormous bass weight and ghostly, soulful vocals. Hear some of that in his Boiler Room above.

He will be joined by ClekClekBoom main man French Fries. We caught up with the Frenchman not so long back, in which he talks at length about his love for the UK scene, something that will shine through when he takes the reigns at LAB11.

His uncompromising take on muscular machine funk and off the wall bass music has seen him enter his most revered period in his career, purveying a sound that is both edgy, club primed and uniquely his own, as heard above.
