Music company, livestreaming platform and record label Cercle Records has kicked off the year with a reimagining of HVOB’s track ‘Attention’, ten years on from its initial release. The newly reworked version by underground house veteran Hernan Cattaneo and his ongoing collaborator, guitarist and prog house producer Mercurio (Esteban Battilana), released last Friday 15th January and honours the original track’s hypnotic beauty while infusing it with progressive club energy that captivates both longtime fans and new listeners.
‘Attention’ has remained an important piece of HVOB, the Austrian electronic duo comprising Anna Müller and Paul Wallner, and began life as part of a film project before being included on the 2015 album Trialog. Longtime fans Cattaneo and Mercurio have reimagined ‘Attention’ for DJ sets, which HVOB themselves said, “really touched us.” Müller and Wallner said of the rework, “It’s always special when someone else reinterprets your music”, while Cattaneo said, “this is electronic music at its best. Most of the magic was already there, so with Mercurio we focused on adding beats and details to bring more power without losing the original spirit.”
You can listen to ‘Attention’ by HVOB (Hernan Cattaneo & Mercurio Remix), courtesy of Cercle Records, now on all platforms.
