Café Del Mar reopens its doors to celebrate an iconic 45 years

This summer, expect to feel a mixture of both nostalgia and excitement as Café Del Mar gets ready to celebrate 45 years of soundtracked sunsets as they reopen their doors after being closed for refurbishment. Founded in 1980 on the San Antonio Coastline, Café Del Mar is recognised as a global institution popular for capturing the essence of Ibiza all in one place. With stunning sunsets, iconic events, world-renowned chill sound and a classic Mediterranean vibe that communicates the Ibiza lifestyle. 

This season, Café Del Mar is set to evolve while staying true to their legendary Ibizan roots, and they have already got the buzz underway with kick-starting their anniversary celebrations, releasing the fifth volume of their infamous Chill Out Mix earlier this year. Highlighting the importance of the 45th anniversary, a 30-track compilation is set to be released featuring legends like Frankie Knuckles, Aphex Twin, Röyksopp, Derrick May, Todd Terje, Moby, and Gerald. 

And with more highly anticipated releases underway, eager fans can expect to see a fresh set of mixes, vinyl repressings of classic Café del Mar compilations, and a new artist album series, which will start with Pig&Dan on Friday June 13th.

Café Del Mar will also welcome Ibiza's first ever instalment of the legendary Elara.6 mixer, adding to an unparalleled booth and sound, that'll elevate your listening experience this summer. As part of the launch, there will also be a new menu that'll come into fruition in June. Being able to keep up with the constant changes surrounding Ibiza, Café Del Mar's next chapter promises to deepen their creative flair and offer a dining experience unlike any other. 

With Music Manager and resident DJ Ken Fan commenting on his excitement and appraisal, 'we’re incredibly excited to be reopening Café del Mar this summer season and, most importantly, to be celebrating 45 years', he added 'from pioneering the Balearic sound to releasing one of the most beloved chill-out compilation series in the world, Café del Mar has cemented itself as a cultural hotspot.'
