Bonobo has announced details of his first new album in four years, with Distance In Static set for release on 11th September via Ninja Tune.
The album is previewed today by the new single ‘Me and You’, a club-focused track that has already become a fan favourite in Bonobo’s recent DJ sets after being road-tested at pop-up events in London and Paris.
Written and recorded across locations including Los Angeles, Tokyo and London, Distance In Static features an impressive list of collaborators. Among those appearing on the record are Arooj Aftab, Joy Crookes, Nilüfer Yanya, Ichiko Aoba and Nicole Miglis.

Alongside the album announcement, Bonobo has revealed a brand-new live show that will debut later this year. The production has been created with designer Pierre Claude, whose previous work includes shows for Air, Gesaffelstein and Caroline Polachek.
Over the past 25 years, Bonobo has become one of electronic music’s most influential artists, earning multiple GRAMMY nominations, releasing two UK Top 10 albums and building a reputation for immersive live performances. His most recent live run included a sold-out five-night residency at London’s Royal Albert Hall and major appearances at festivals including Glastonbury, Coachella and Field Day.
The announcement marks the start of a new chapter for the producer, with Distance In Static arriving as both a celebration of his career so far and a look towards what comes next.
