Berlin's Tresor is opening its doors to the future club founders of the world
The Tresor Academy of Subcultural Understanding is accepting global applicants for the first time for their free three-week programme, teaching young people how to run subcultural spaces in their cities

Berlin's techno temple Tresor has announced the first ever 'global edition' of its Academy of Subcultural Understanding, opening the doors to the free educational programme that aims to support and teach young people looking to open and run subcultural spaces in their own cities.
Applications are now open for the three-week programme, which takes place from 14th September to 4th October and features both intensive on-site training across instutions like Tresor, Kraftwerk and OHM in Berlin, as well as online courses. Ultimately both supporting your ideaa for a venue and give you the tools to run it successfully.

Run by the Tresor Foundation, the Academy focuses on the practical realities of creating sustainable cultural venues, bringing together training, research and knowledge exchange around club management, community-building and urban development.
The programme is aimed at people aged between 21 and 35 who are interested in developing independent spaces for music, culture and nightlife. Successful applicants will take part in a mix of on-site sessions in Berlin and online learning, working alongside local experts and researchers to develop ideas for projects in their home cities.
Founded by Tresor owner Dimitri Hegemann, the Tresor Foundation launched in 2021 with a mission to support subcultural spaces and grassroots cultural infrastructure, particularly outside major metropolitan centres.
Only eight participants will be selected for the programme. Participation is free, although travel and accommodation costs are not included. Applications close on 29th June.
