Bakey has announced his debut album is coming soon, courtesy of Warehouse Project Records, alongside the release of lead single ‘Fool Me Twice’.
The London-born, Bristol-based DJ and producer has experienced a rapid rise in recent years with sets at Boiler Room, Warehouse Project, Glastonbury, Parklife, and We Out Here, to name a few, in addition to being crowned DJ Mag’s Breakthrough Artist of the Year in 2023.
Freshly released lead single from the upcoming record ‘Fool Me Twice’ juggles shimmering synths with jungle beats, giving a hint at what’s to come from the full LP. “I wanted to make something that felt big and euphoric but still deeply human - something you could lose yourself in on the dancefloor, but also carry with you afterwards.” Bakey said of ‘Fool Me Twice’, while commenting that his upcoming album, “has been two years in the making, and it really feels like the purest reflection of who I am as a producer. It’s called Tribute because it’s exactly that - to the soundsystems, pirate radio stations, and raves that shaped me. I’m beyond hyped to finally share it with the world.”
Bakey is set to embark on a three-date headline tour in October, stopping at Leeds’ Belgrave Music Hall on Saturday 11th, London’s Village Underground on Friday 17th, and Bristol’s Trinity Centre on Saturday 18th.
