Apple Music to open new venue in Battersea Power Station

The 600-capacity Apple Music Hall will open beneath the company’s UK headquarters in London next week.

Apple Music has announced a new live music venue located in Battersea Power Station. Apple Music Hall, a 600-capacity space beneath the company’s UK headquarters, opens its doors on Monday 28th September. 

Inspired by the architecture and heritage of its location, the new venue was described by Apple as offering artists and music fans with “an exceptional live concert experience alongside the River Thames”, with its limited 600-capacity designed to purposefully “close the gap between intimacy and production value and allow for an unprecedented level of creative control.” 

The venue additionally features a 48-speaker spatial sound system, two dedicated recording and mixing studios located behind the stage, and over 16 cameras feeding into a broadcast control room, allowing for artists to leave a performance with a spatial recording, broadcast-ready mix and multimedia video. 

Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of Apple Music and International Content, said of the new venue, “with the opening of Apple Music Hall, we are once again taking an unprecedented step further in our commitment to artists and fans by supporting live music in ways only Apple can do.” DJ, radio presenter and Apple Music’s global creative director Zane Lowe added, “We’re always looking for new opportunities to connect the artists and the fans because we are fans. What better way to celebrate this relationship than a new music venue where we get to experience amazing music in an amazing space and share it with the world.” 

The new venue coincides with the opening of Apple’s new radio studios, with all of the company’s London-based shows relocating to Battersea.

Apple Music Hall opens in Battersea on Monday 28th September.
