Oasis’ comeback tour is just days away, and Aldi has fittingly paid tribute to the group in Manchester. A branch of the supermarket on Bury New Road in Prestwich, a stone’s throw away from Heaton Park where the band will play five nights, has been temporarily renamed ‘Aldeh’, drawing attention from bucket hat-clad music fans and regular shoppers alike.
The highly anticipated reunion tour, the first from Oasis since their infamous split in 2009, kicks off this week at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on Friday 4th & Saturday 5th July before playing five homecoming gigs at Heaton Park throughout the month. Doors and stage times for the opening Cardiff gigs have also been revealed, with Liam Gallagher taking to Twitter to tell fans not to be late for their 8:15pm entrance.
They will then move on to London’s Wembley Stadium, Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium, and Dublin’s Croke Park before crossing the Atlantic and touring the States. Cast and Richard Ashcroft are set to support the band throughout the reunion tour’s UK and Ireland leg.
