Mar-T's top 5 tracks that rock Amnesia

Amnesia Ibiza resident Mar-T counts down 5 tracks which remind him of playing at the world-famous superclub.

Date published: 28th Feb 2017

Amnesia is a core part of Ibiza's world-famous, all-conquering dance scene. As one of the island's superclubs, the venue welcomes the biggest DJs in the world to create unforgettable moments that will last a lifetime, whether it's in the epic confines of the main room or on the instantly recognisable terrace.

Behind every good club is a good resident DJ. There to entice, tease and set the foundations, they are arguably the most important aspect of the party's musical structure. Amnesia boasts one longstanding selector in particular, Mar-T, who has held his residency since 1999.

Having released on Moon Harbour, Hot Creations, Cocoon, Elrow Music and Toolroom to name just a few, and with his own label WOW! Recordings releasing some key house and techno productions, Mar-T's talents clearly stretch much further than the dancefloor. We caught up with him ahead of the brand's showcase at Electric Brixton on Saturday 4th March.

Rolando A.K.A. The Aztec Mystic - 'Knights Of The Jaguar' [Underground Resistance]

Without any doubt this is not only the most famous track of 1999, it's the most famous track of its decade. You could hear this track every day in all type of parties and still you can always listen to someone playing this track.

Silicone Soul - 'Right On' [Soma]

The feeling you could get listening this track on the terrace of Amnesia is difficult to explain. At that time this track just blew the heads off everybody. It was fresh, sensual, percussive and worked really well.

Funk D'Void - 'Diabla' (Heavenly Mix) [Soma]

For me this track was amazing, I would go crazy every time Sven Väth would play this track at Cocoon. It was the perfect track for Ibiza at that time.

Tomaz vs Filterheadz - 'Sunshine' [Intec]

What can I say? This was like made for Ibiza, it was an absolute bomb. Anywhere you went you had 99% possibilities of dancing this track. It was a great summer tune!!

Superchumbo - 'The Revolution' [Twisted]

It's time for a Revooooolutioooon!!! Tom Stephan with his AKA Superchumbo at that time was in its peak moment and this track for me was super special. Everybody would be singing the main vocals and the brake was superb.
