London’s award-winning Get Loaded in the Park festival is now less than 2 weeks away, but that’s not gonna stop us announcing even more quality artists to the bill – for what is already being hyped as one of the most talked about line-ups of the summer. Returning to our spiritual home of Clapham Common on Sunday 30th August, this will be our 6th year of getting loaded in the sunshine and having established a more eclectic and electronic approach this year we can’t wait to get started!! Last Remaining tickets are now on sale, and all roads lead to another successful 20,000 sell-out. Bring it on!!
JUST ANNOUNCED!!
V V BROWN
MIIKE SNOW
It’s quite the Get Loaded tradition to announce a breaking artist or two, at this late stage in campaign as seen and enjoyed last year with Noah & The Whale, and the one-man-band Newton Faulkner the year previous. So ladies and gentlemen, it gives us the upmost pleasure to announce that the amazing singer/songwriter/producer V V Brown and Swedish sensations Miike Snow have just been added to this summer’s line-up.

V V BROWN
www.myspace.com/vvbrown
2009 began with a bang for V V Brown as she made the Top 10 of the prestigious BBC Sounds ‘Poll’ of new artists to watch out for, coupled with an upfront slot on Later With Jools Holland. Last month saw the release of her eagerly awaited debut album ‘Travelling Like The Light’ through Island Records – with inspirations ranging from 50’s rock n’ roll to current day electronica... and Super Mario! The album was preceded by a limited non-chart eligible release of ‘Crying Blood’ on 7" vinyl and download, and more recently the single, ‘Shark In The Water’ which has helped put on her on the musical map. V V’s also been rather busy on the road supporting the likes of The Ting Tings, Ladyhawke, Florence & The Machine and Antony & The Johnsons and wooing festival crowds at Glastonbury, T in the Park, Lovebox and Camp Bestival. Next up then for this ultra-talented 25 year old, London-based artist is Get Loaded in the Park, where you can catch V V Brown performing live in the XFM Stage.
MIIKE SNOW
www.myspace.com/miikesnow
Miike Snow is made up of the talented trio that is Andrew Wyatt, Christian Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg. Named after an acquaintance with an “i” added for extra flair, Miike Snow recently signed with Downtown Records and are currently making us go weak at the knees with the exceptional ‘Animal’ (complete with Crookers and Fake Blood remixes!) and ‘Burial’ singles, taken from their self-titled debut album. Recorded in Stockholm in the 400 year old home used to house King Gustaf III’s mistress, Miike Snow bristles with confidence. Its intelligent pop music showcasing melodic songs built for the anything goes environment of the club. While you may not have recognised Karlsson and Winberg by their full names, you have surely heard their work as production duo Bloodshy & Avant. The duo has written and produced for Kylie Minogue, Madonna and Britney Spears… and claimed a Grammy for their work on Ms. Spears’ ‘Toxic’. In addition, Wyatt is fresh off co-production duties with Mark Ronson on Daniel Merriweather’s ‘Love And War’ album. Needless to say, these guys are VERY HOT property right now and they’ll join V V Brown in the XFM Stage together with fellow hotly tipped stars Marina & The Diamonds, Mpho and Trip, Norwegian princes Röyksopp, Germany’s brilliant Booka Shade and a DJ set from festival faves Pendulum; all hosted and compared by XFM’s John Kennedy and Eddy Temple Morris. Phew!!

OFFICIAL AFTER PARTY @ FABRIC
The Official After Party to this summer’s Get Loaded in the Park festival has just been confirmed at fabric, straight after the big event finishes over at Clapham Common on Sunday 30th August. Wet Yourself presents Get Loaded in the Park’s Official After Party at the cult London venue featuring a party-starting list of DJs from the festival itself, plus a very special headline guest – exclusive to this afterhours show.
Leading the charge for Get Loaded’s post-in-the-park knees up will be the dynamic duo that is, Simian Mobile Disco. No strangers to fabric’s killer soundsystem, SMD will be dropping dancefloor bombs in Room 1 supported by Wet Yourself Residents Husley & Gunz, Peter Pixzel and Cormac. SMD are set to release their highly anticipated second LP ‘Temporary Pleasure’ anytime now and early reviews are all high-fiving in approval. The boys have drafted in guest vocalists Beth Ditto, Gruff Rhys and Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor amongst others to spice things up, with the new album following their acclaimed 2007 debut ‘Attack Decay Sustain’. Expect a few choice edits on the night from the ever-popular James Ford and Jas Shaw as their block-rockin’ DJ set will be the perfect soundtrack to follow a messy day on the Common! Over in Room 2 the Dim Mak crew are taking over, lead from the front by label boss and all round Dim Mak guru Steve Aoki. Having hosted their own stage at Get Loaded in the Park earlier in the day, Dim Mak will be bringing the noize to fabric with label cohorts The Bloody Beetroots further showcasing their skills as serious ones to watch, plus look out for special guests on the night!! To round things off, Wet Yourself Friends & Family host the more intimate Room 3 with Stereo Addiction, Kanio, Betoko and John&On overseeing the techno tunage. The Wet Yourself gang have made Sunday nights their own at fabric and this latest Bank Holiday biggie follows their previously epic parties featuring the likes of Miss Kittin, Ellen Allien, DJ Hell and Chris Liebing. A limited number of Early Bird Joint Tickets are on sale now priced only £50 + BF
