Lyndsey was first diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2009. She fought back, beating this and then a subsequent tumour, and was given the all clear in 2011.

Tragically however, just four months after her all clear diagnosis, Lyndsey became sick again at Easter, this time with an inoperable form of brain cancer. Doctors have given her the devastating prognosis of three months to two years.

Friends and family of Lyndsey are now desperately trying to raise the funds to send Lyndsey on the trip of a lifetime to Thailand and Vietnam, before she becomes too sick to travel.

As a huge techno fan, it seemed fitting that this fundraising event should celebrate Lyndsey's passion, so this Saturday will see 16 of Manchester's techno DJs play on the brand new Funktion One Soundsystem at Underdog, the basement club of the new Black Dog Ballroom on New Wakefield Street.

Artists giving up their time for this cause include DJs from Hideaway, Under, Dirty Analogue, Limbo, Micron, Content, T-Pot, Zuhtek, Fingerprint, MeandYou, Arthouse, Formation, Adapt and Continue.

During the day there will be a BBQ and raffle on the terrace (all ages are welcome), all proceeds going to Lyndsey’s Purple Heart Brain Tumor Fund.

The door price is just £5 to enter the club, with the option of an open donation - Lyndsey’s friends and family are asking everyone to spread the word and make this event a special one.
