As tens of thousands of sore heads emerge from tents on Worthy Farm, we've collected together some of our favourite snaps from this weekend's storming festival, from Foals' secret gig in The Park to Carl Cox's triumphant performance on top of a 140 tonne, 50 metre, fire-spitting crane in Arcadia.

Stormzy headlines the Pyramid stage

On the official opening day of the festival, history was made. Multi-award winning grime artist Stormzy performed an iconic set, wowing a huge audience and becoming the first ever black British headliner at Glastonbury. His set, which included a pyrotechnic show, a ballet performance and a massive 'F**k Boris' chant along, has prompted fellow musicians, politicians and fans to label his set as one that will go down in cultural history.

Jeff Goldblum brings Hollywood to Worthy Farm

The charismatic film star brought his unique and extremely flamboyant live show to the fields surrounding the West Holts stage over the weekend. Donning a vibrant Hawaiian style shirt, zebra-patterned pants and a pork pie hat, he engaged the crowd, performed experimental and loose jazz numbers and closed out his set with a performance of the Jurassic Park theme tune.

The Chemical Brothers blow-up The Other stage

The British dance act returned to The Other stage for their fifth time, affirming them as one of the greatest dance acts of all time. The pair put on a jaw-dropping performance, including their customary laser light show. Could we see them return to the Pyramid stage next year to play a headline slot? We certainly hope so!

Lewis Capaldi pays tribute to Noel Gallagher

The cheeky, Scottish singer and songwriter came on to The Other stage wearing a green parka and t-shirt emblazoned with a love heart containing Noel Gallagher's face. All the while, a video looped on the big screens of a recent interview with the Oasis star, who states "music is f**king w**k at the moment. Who's this Capaldi fella?" Top drawer bants, Lewis.

Kylie is joined on stage by Nick Cave

The Australian singer, who missed out on a headline performance back in 2005 due to her battle with cancer, played to the biggest crowd of the whole weekend on the Pyramid stage. During her emotional set, she was accompanied by fellow Aussie, Nick Cave. The pair performed a rendition of Wild Rose whilst the crowd held up roses, swaying from side to side in the late afternoon sun.

Carl Cox plays a live set on top of a crane at Arcadia

The Arcadia art collective rescued a 140-tonne, 50 metre-high tripod crane from Bristol docks this year, giving it a new lease of life as the main attraction in Arcadia, replacing the mesmerizing mechanical spider installation. The over four-decade-old piece of machinery spat fire across the night sky as revellers danced below. This photo was taken during DJ Carl Cox's sublime B2B set with Jamie Jones on Friday night.

Billie Eilish owns The Other stage

The young American, who has taken the music industry by storm, headlined The Other stage after originally being booked to perform on the John Peel stage. The 17-year-old had the crowd in the palm of her hand throughout the set, despite being plagued by technical issues.

The Cure perform a triumphant two hour long set on the Pyramid stage

The rock veterans, responsible for producing some of the most anthemic indie tracks of recent decades, played a set much different from other headliners over the course of the weekend. The British goth-pop heroes played a minimalist set, choosing not to overdo the visuals, letting the music do the talking - and we're glad they did.

Miley Cyrus on The Pyramid stage

The Texan superstar was joined on stage by special guests Lil Nas X and dad Billy Ray Cyrus, who performed their hit Old Town Road, and Mark Ronson who helped Miley pay homage to Amy Winehouse by covering Back To Black.

Christine and The Queens dramatic live display on The Other stage

The French pop act put on a theatrical performance involving contemporary dance and impressive staging. Although there was a lot going on visually, none of the tricks made up for a lack of energy or overall performance. An accomplished performance from one of the year's most hotly tipped acts.

We don't really feel the need to explain this image. Just look at that stage. Wow.

Foals secret set on The Park stage

The Oxford-based rock outfit performed a secret, unannounced set on The Park stage. As the news began to find its way across the festival, swathes of people rushed towards the stage which forced the security and safety teams at the festival to close off the area. The band played a monstrous set, beginning with Mountain At My Gates and ending with Two Steps, Twice

The Killers joined on stage by Johnny Marr

There are some pairings that you didn't know you needed until you've seen them together. This was one of those occasions. Johnny Marr of The Smiths joined Brendan Flowers and the rest of the band on stage during their headline Pyramid stage set. Marr broke into This Charming Man whilst the band and Flowers followed. 1 word. Goosebumps.

The Streets on the John Peel stage

Whilst The Cure played through their extensive back catalogue on the Pyramid stage, Mike Skinner and The Streets were drawing huge crowds to the John Peel stage. The band, who returned this year for their fourth appearance, played an energetic set filled with classic tracks from the bands' seminal album, Original Pirate Material.

Janelle Monae on the West Holts stage

The queen of off-kilter funk and soul gave a powerful performance on the final night of the festival, wearing a bold red, black and white suit topped off with a matching hat. As well as putting on a thoroughly entertaining show, the accomplished artist used the platform as an opportunity to spread messages about the rights of black people and the LBGT community in the US, which she identifies with. A truly class act.
