Described as "Europe's largest bass culture and dubstep festival", the Outlook Festival will be returning for a fourth year in 2011, having settled into its home in Punta Christo for the second year running. (2008's festival was in Petrcane, whilst 2009's was at the Superclub in Novalja, on the island of Pag.)
Punta Christo is a wonderful fort from the 19th century located on a peninsula close to Pula and, as the official website says, "in the UK this place would be a national heritage site and there wouldn't be chance of holding a festival of any kind within its walls. But we're not in the UK and so we have the chance to create a festival venue unlike one you have ever seen." Very true! As such, the Fort lends itself to some spectacular venues for the Festival.
Stages are to be erected in the main courtyard (where the majority of acts will perform) for a capacity of 2,000 and in "Mungo's Courtyard" with a capacity of 800. There's also "The Dungeon" for 300 people, and "Noah's Ballroom", a circular pit that will feature a soundsystem.
During the day, festivalgoers can have fun at parties on the beach which is by the festival campsite, as well as booking themselves onto the infamous boat parties wich feature DJs, MCs and a bar. (Boat parties must be booked separately as they're not included in the festival ticket price.)
The 2011 line-up has yet to be revealed, so do watch this space for further info!
