We are making our way towards finalising the WinterStorm XVII line up and we've got a lot more to do over the coming weeks and months but we thought we could at least up date you on what is now the third round of announcements!

Remember that the doors will be opening at just after lunchtime on Friday so book the day off and with the strength of depth right through the line up you won't want to miss a moment! We are scheduling up to sixteen bands over two days on the main stage and once again we'll have the acoustic chill out stage too an with a bit of luck some more surprises.

Next Announcement on 5th of May

The Headliners and Guests

We are well down the road with the rest of the line up but we are well ahead of ourselves this year and will be taking our time in making sure everything fits. We are hoping to secure some exclusive Scottish gigs and hope to match and in some areas surpass what we brought to you in 2016. We shall do our best at any rate.

We have mentioned that there is a Reading Festival thread runing through this year's line up and that theme continued with the announcment that Bernie Marsden will be appearing with his band which includes fellow ex Whitesnake member Neil Murray. Alongside the old Whitesnake bandmembers we have now confirmed that Rainbow and Michael Schenker Group front man Graham Bonnet will be bringing his band over from The States too.

We had previously confirmed that New York hard rockers Tyketto will be on the WinterStorm stage on the Friday evening and we are delighted to confirm that Saturday will have it's own melodic rock spot with the confirmation of Dare.

We can also confirm that MC Extraordinaire, Scotland's Godfather of Rock, Mr Tom Russell will be back behind the mic introducing the acts.

The Spirit of 80's Reading Lives On!

Old skool rock and metal will have it’s place once again at WinterStorm with half a dozen acts harping back to the spirit of the early eighties. Watch out for more but we start here. Early eighties Reading and Donington have a place in many rockers hearts and minds even if not all memories remain intact and with the Whitesnake connection in place we can add a few more to that...

We are delighted to welcome back both Praying Mantis and Tygers of Pan Tang. Both bands had their sets shortened due to external circumstances last year and we promised them both that we'd have them back to complete unfinished business. Both played the Reading Festival back in the day and they were at the forefront of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal as was guitar legend Bernie Torme.

Bernie was best known for being lead on perhaps some of the finest rock albums of the period with Gillan and we are delighted to have him with us for 2017 with his own unique style and new band.

There will be more links to Reading coming your way...

The Rising Stars

Last year's line up was more than about the headliners and the quality of talent right through the line up made the weekend what it was and we hope to have that strength in depth again this year. Featuring up and coming signed and unsigned we will have some of the best young rock talent on show over both days.

The first four confirmed to start with include last year's show stealers Mason Hill. We are delighted to have them back and who knows what they'll have achieved before stage time this year.

We are also equally delighted to bring three superb young bands up the M74 each one bringing something different to the WinterStorm stage. Massive Wagons, Bigfoot and Stone Broken are all confirmed for WinterStorm XVII and we can't wait to welcome them all.

We are working on the acoustic and new talent stages too, improving the range of real ales in the bar, setting up a new and improved ice cream stall and of course we'll have the by now world famous WinterStorm pies back on sale!

We hope you'll join us by the seaside again this November.
