History of Rockness

The festival started out as Fatboy Slim arrived with his 'Brighton Beach Party' on the shores of Loch Ness way back in 2006. It sold out very quickly, and made such an impression that a return to the site was inevitable. By 2009 it had expanded enough to become a 3 day festival and hosted such massive acts as Biffy Clyro, The Flaming Lips and The Prodigy.

It has continued to grow in size and stature, and is now regularly winning 'Best Small Festival' awards with magazines like NME.

RockNess has become famous for its eclectic lineups as well as the hedonistic, but also friendly crowd it attracts. Rockness is certainly the place to let go of your inhibitions, in an incredible atmosphere, which is probably why it is so loved.
