Travel to/from Party at the Palace
Party at the Palace is held at Lochside Field Linlithgow. The address of Lochside Field Linlithgow is A803, Linlithgow, EH49 7LP.
After the huge success of moving across the loch for 2016 and 2017 the festival retains this improved location for 2018. It truly has an amazing view overlooking the palace and down the length of the loch.
ESSENTIAL TRAVEL ADVICE
Party at the Palace is only 10 minutes walk from Linlithgow Rail Station. Party at the Palace is only 10 minutes walk from Linlithgow Rail Station. The festival is keen for everyone to enjoy Glen’s Party at The Palace and to get you all home safely. Your patience on leaving the site is vital to the safety and well being of all those attending the event.
Party at the Palace has teamed up with concert travel specialists Happy Bus to provide coach travel. There will be coaches running from a number of locations including Glasgow, Stirling, Falkirk, Fife, Perth and Edinburgh. The Happybus prices are highly competitive with rail so if you had been planning to come by train please consider getting one of these coaches which depart from near the train stations. These buses must be booked in advance.
There is ample parking at PATP so we would urge you to use the designated car parks shown on the map below and follow directions from our event stewards.
While there is capacity for over 1,000 cars, we would ask you to consider car sharing. It’s eco friendly, better value, and you might meet some new friends.
The speed limit around the parking areas is 5mph and must be observed.
Getting dropped off / picked up
If you are being dropped off by car, taxi/private hire or mini-bus, we recommend the lay by on Blackness Road. This is a drop off point only and cars must not wait or park here. The pick up point after the event is the car park to the rear of Tesco. Taxis and cars can wait here safely without blocking the roads around the event.
Scheduled Bus Service
These buses will leave from their normal departure points on the specified bus schedules shown HERE. Extra buses are being put on to Falkirk and Edinburgh by Firstbus on the 38 route but get to the stop in plenty of time as they will be busy.
Local taxi companies have been made aware of the event and will be operating from the normal taxi stance in Linlithgow on the High Street outside The Victoria Hall. It would be advisable to pre-book.
Disabled Access Information
Party at The Palace takes place on a grass field which includes an incline. The terrain may not be suitable for all types of buggy or wheelchair but stewards are there to help and assist where possible. Loos for people with disabilities and baby changing facilities are available on site.
We have an area reserved for those requiring assistance. This is in a field and although the grass is cut short, we appreciate that it is not ideal terrain. From the car park to the road is around 100 metres and it a further 150 metres to the site entrance. You do not need to join the queue.
As an alternative to using the car park, a drop off point is located at the bottom of the road leading to the event entrance. It is approximately 200 metres from the bottom of the road to the site entrance on tarmac up a gradient.
The sectioned off area is 20 metres from the site entrance with sight lines down to the stage. An area in front of the disabled section will be cordoned off to avoid people standing and blocking the view.
A viewing platform is provided for those with disabilities and one carer on a first come basis. We cannot guarantee a space on the platform.
Seats – seats are available on request.
Loos – 2 wheelchair accessible loos are located within the sectioned off area.
Stewarding – stewards are on hand to make sure none else uses the facilities.
Staff – we have at least 2 staff in this area to assist.
Programmes – complimentary programmes are available on request.
We do give consideration to those coming to our event with disabilities however there is only so much we can do on an agricultural site so we will never be able to match the facilities of a modern purpose built venue.
