How can I purchase tickets?

In advance of the event, tickets are available through our sole ticketing agency, Skiddle. This is the only way to purchase tickets.  When the festival opens, and subject to tickets not being sold out, unsold tickets will be available.  Tickets sold on site will be at a higher price than tickets purchased in advance which reflects the increased administration costs of selling tickets at the site.

Is there a booking fee for tickets?

There is a booking fee which is charged by our ticketing agents. This is included in the total price advertised by them and is stipulated below the advertised total price. The booking fee covers their advertising and administration costs involved in the running of the event.

How are my tickets delivered to me?

Once purchased, tickets will be emailed to you. They may also be downloaded via the Skiddle smartphone app and saved to your passbook. Please note that tickets cannot be re-issued and you must bring your ticket with you to gain admission.

How do I get in to the festival?

Your ticket will be scanned by our admissions team at the entrance gate to the festival. You will be issued with a festival wristband valid for the period of your ticket.  The wristband will be put on by our admissions team and cannot be removed without breaking the wristband.  The wristband permits you re-entry to the festival up to 9pm on any day that your ticket is valid.

What if I don't receive my tickets or I have problems during the purchasing process?

For ALL ticketing enquiries or issues please visit or call Skiddle on 03333 010101.

Why do you have a no re-entry after 9 pm policy?

There are 2 reasons for this policy.

1) In order to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests and protect the festival's good reputation, we feel that it is important to keep our festival site contained in the late evening, where our very competent and friendly security team can ensure that everything runs smoothly.

2) We are respectful of the residents of Oxted and The Oxted Beer Festival is held in the middle of a residential town and in consideration of our local residents we would like to discourage our guests from gathering in the surrounding areas outside of the festival site.

Under 5's are free - Do they need a ticket?

Yes, everyone entering the festival must have a valid ticket. We have strict limits to the numbers of people allowed on the site at any one time and so we have to strictly control the number of people entering, including those under 5.

There is no charge for under 5's but they need a 'free' ticket to enter the festival and receive a wristband..

Can I collect my ticket at the site?

No. You must ensure to bring a hard copy of your printed ticket or a digital copy of your ticket to the festival site for it to be scanned.

Can I get a refund on my tickets?

No. We are unfortunately unable to organise refunds for festival tickets so please make sure you order the correct ones at the time of purchase.  Once all tickets have sold out our ticketing agent will launch a facility for tickets to be resold at face value to assist in dissuading “ticket touts” increasing the price.

Can I bring a picnic?

No. The festival provide a wide array of creatively different food traders for you to enjoy. These traders contribute significantly to the costs of putting the event on.  In order to support our traders, we regret no food or drink can be brought into the festival, with the exception of infant snacks or special requirements. As part of our security at the entrance, bags will be searched upon entry.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, dogs are welcome at our festival but must be kept on a lead at all times. Please also remember to clean up after your furry friend and please don’t forget to bring a water bowl!

If I leave the festival, can I return?

Yes, The wristband permits you re-entry to the festival up to 9pm on any day that your ticket is valid.

Can I take food & drink outside the festival?

No. To protect the surrounds area and ensure litter is contained within the boundary of the festival we have a strict policy of not allowing any food, glass or drinks to be removed from the festival site, this includes soft drinks. You will be requested to leave all drinks at the gate upon exit.

Why do you have a festival glass and can I keep it?

In order to reduce our impact upon the environment we try to keep waste to an absolute minimum. Having a re-usable festival glass is a part of this policy.  This is issued free upon entry. Please make sure you collect your glass as you will not be served beer without it.

You are free to take this home with you however it must be empty when leaving the festival site. If you are attending the festival on another day as a weekend ticket holder please bring it back with you.

What happens if I lose or break my festival glass?

In order to be served at our Beer Bar, you must have a festival glass. If you break or lose your glass, you’ll need to buy a new one from the Beero de Change at a cost of £3 so please keep your glass safe.

Why have you changed the festival glass from glass to hard plastic?

In order to comply with modern day Health and Safety requirements

What are Stillings and how do they work?

Stillings are the festival currency. No cash is taken at any bar/food stall etc within the site. Stillings can be purchased using cash or card from our Beero De Change.

Can I change my Stillings back to cash?

No. Please only buy as many Stillings as you think you will need as Stillings are non-refundable.

Can I use Stillings I purchased in a previous year at this year's festival?

No. Stillings are only valid for the current year and will have the year printed on them.

What is your policy on underage drinking?

The festival operates a zero tolerance policy to underage drinking and works to the Challenge 25 principle. All festival bars operate a refusals register so please ensure that you bring ID with you as if you are lucky enough to look under 25 you will be challenged. Acceptable forms of ID are a passport, a European Union photocard driving licence or a photographic identity card bearing the national Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) hologram. No other forms of ID will be accepted.

Do you cater for disabled access at the festival?

Yes. Our festival entrance has a disabled access lane and there is a disabled toilet in each of our toilet areas.

Do you have security present?

Yes. There is a comprehensive SIA registered, security team present at the festival site at all times, alongside CCTV.

Is there parking on site?

No. We advise you to travel via public transport rather than bringing your car as parking at the event is restricted to the staff, bands and concessions. Parking in the surrounding area is very limited.

What happens if it rains?

In the event of inclement weather we have large areas of the site that are covered.  Equally there are large expanses of the site that are fully exposed to the weather, including the food areas and second stage. If the forecast is for rain then we recommend you come prepared with wellies and a brolly.

Will there be seating provided at the festival?

Seating is provided in all areas at the festival except in the main tent where our main stage is. Seating is of course limited and is not intended to seat everybody.

Are there ATMs available on the festival site?

No.  The festival uses its own currency (Stillings) and you can purchase Stillings on site using your debit or credit card.  If you bring cash with you you can also purchase Stillings with cash.

There are ATM’s within a short minute walk of the festival entrance on the high street up towards the station.

Are you a fundraising event and what do you raise funds for?

Yes. The OLCSA is a not for profit organisation and surplus funds from the event go to support local sporting activities and local good causes.

Are all the beers available all the time?

No, Real ale needs time to settle after racking and so at the start of the festival all the beers are available but as these are consumed we have to replace them and wait for them to settle again. We replace beers overnight and have a comprehensive restocking system managed by the Hop Stop Team so we do not run out of beer. Obviously, as with all beer festivals, the variety of the ales reduces as the weekend progresses but we will always be able to serve you a pint! Last year there were over 30 different ales still available upon festival closure on Sunday evening.

Is there only beer available?

We have a wide array of bars available to cater to every taste, including Gin, Pimms, Bubbles and cocktail bars.

Who can volunteer to work at the festival?

The festival is a community event open to everyone! If you would like to volunteer, please go to the Volunteer Page

How to I sponsor a barrel?

Sponsorship starts from £220+VAT, but it's much more than just your name on a barrel. Your sponsor's event tickets not only give you access to our VIP Sponsors Only, event, but they also give you access to the festival all weekend, plus free drinks and advertising opportunities. Please see our Sponsorship Page for more details.

Are there any local bands playing this year?

Yes, Idol Hands of Oxted have ensured that local talent is well represented in our music line up alongside several top professional groups.
