History of Knockengorroch Festival

Knockengorroch World Ceilidh began one mid-summer 1998, the year after an international 'rainbow gathering' took place on the land, and since then have moved from strength to strength without losing any of our original character.

Knockengorroch now attracts people from all over Scotland, the UK, and beyond, and have acted as an inspiration for several other festivals in Dumfries and Galloway, and further afield.

Originally held at Knockengorroch Farm in Galloway, festivals have also been held in the Forest of Ae near Dumfries, and Talnotry near Newton Stewart. All locations have a breath-taking beauty and 'upland' position in common, and it is this focus that Knockengorroch Festivals continue to promote.
