Biography

The mighty Zen Hussies are a Bristol institution, playing to packed venues all over the city and beyond. Formed in 2001 by wordsmith and multi-instrumentalist Jonah Flatfoot (AKA Jules Landau), they set out not only to put their own spin on vintage pre-war classics, but to purvey brand new material relevant to the 21st Century, delivering it with wit and panache, with healthy dollops of swing, blues, boogaloo and rock and roll.

The line-up has shifted over the years but their high-energy live stage show remains as engaging as ever, as they gregariously rip through new and old classics such as ‘Kecker-Rocker’, ‘Troubled Feet’, ‘Fruity Matootsie’ and ‘Runaway Rich Kid’.
