Biography

Puppet Rebellion were born in early 2013 when charismatic frontman Simon Monaghan met Chilean drummer Chris Carcamo selling string puppets on the side of a dirt track in Santiago, using a home made drum kit to attract people to his stall. This definitely attracted Simon's attention and the two quickly became friends.

After weeks of deliberation, Simon persuaded Chris to move to England and start a band, and the two began searching the internet for like minded individuals. This quickly led to a meeting with guitarist and frustrated genius/geek Craig Gibson. Craig was disillusioned with his current band life and the seemingly eternal search to find his McCartney. Upon meeting Simon and Chris, he too formed an instant bond over mutual post-punk influences and the pair's visible will to succeed.

Simon conceived the name Puppet Rebellion as both a reference to his frustration at being controlled by the management of his previous band, and the fateful meeting in Santiago with the enigmatic puppet vendor.

Paul Roman (Guitars) and Jim Halliwell (Bass) joined soon after following auditions, and the fully formed quintet made a pact to write fast, energetic indie / rock with words and sounds that would speak to the world.

After months of writing and rehearsing, and a host of frenetic live sets, the ‘Chemical Friends EP’ was released to the world in the summer of 2013 receiving instant attention from the band's substantial twitter following. Another release is planned for later in the year. Puppet Rebellion demand to be heard, and when you do hear, your life will be in a better place because of it......
