Biography

Lindsay Dracass was discovered at 13 years old by Alan Wood who heard her sing at a charity show in their hometown of Sheffield. On hearing her, Wood became her manager. Wood introduced Lindsay to fellow Sheffielder, the hit singer/songwriter, Paul Carrack.

At the age of 15, Lindsay performed live as a backing singer in the UK, Europe and the United States with Carrack and performed at the Glastonbury 2000 festival. On a trip to Los Angeles, she was introduced to hit record producer Peter Van Hooke, the current drummer with Mike and The Mechanics.

As a 15 year old schoolgirl, Lindsay was selected through a BBC programme by the British public to be the UK's entrant for the 2001 Eurovision Song Contest in Denmark, with the anthemic No Dream Impossible, where she made a lasting impression on tens of thousands of people around the world. Lindsay wowed audiences with her performance of this song many years later at the Eurostarz event in London, August 2018 and Europride 2018 in Stockholm.

Lindsay was selected to be one of the 100 judges on the popular BBC TV show, All Together Now, hosted by Rob Beckett and Geri Horner, the second series of which will air in March, 2019.

In addition to her live show and television appearances, Lindsay has been recording original songs with renowned songwriter/musician, Julian Jones, culminating in the upcoming album, Waiting For You (release date: 09.02.2019).
