Junk Drawer are an indie rock band based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. To date, they've released the 2-track 'Their Self-Loathing Debut (Mostly)' and 'For The Cult Fat Guy' EP.

Formed in a Belfast bedroom in 2015 by brothers Stevie & Jake Lennox and Brian Coney from rural Mid-Ulster, Junk Drawer are a kitchen sink indie rock quartet. Featuring members of Sister Ghost, PigsAsPeople & Mons Olympus (amongst others), they function as much as a collective as a they do a band; each member is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, with roles changing from song-to-song depending on how they feel it should take form.

Musically, they're driven by the near-telepathic sense of harmony & dischordance that comes from a sibling creative rivalry at the helm, as well as being comprised of music magpies and journalists collecting and sharing inspiration from all corners. They've been described as being a melting pot of guitar-driven '80s & '90s indie & alternative rock, krautrock, post-punk, post-hardcore, shoegaze, noise rock and psych, in the vein of Exploding In Sound Records, drawing regular comparisons with the likes of Slint, Pavement, Built To Spill, Parquet Courts & Sonic Youth. Lyrically, it's kitchen sink absurd realism about the human condition, with influences ranging from Jonathan Franzen to Stewart Lee, Marc Maron to Mark Kozelek.

Junk Drawer debuted in 2015 with the two-track 'Their Self-Loathing Debut (Mostly)' followed by their next single 'Song 3', which was featured on Little L Records' 'A Litany Of Failures' split cassette. In 2016, they released their eclectic debut EP, 'For The Cult Fat Guy', to acclaim in music publications & blogs in Ireland and beyond.

Their debut show saw Junk Drawer support Jeffrey Lewis - who proclaimed them "the best support band I've seen in really quite some time" - and they were selected to play support to Grandaddy & And So I Watch You From Afar shortly after, as well as being invited to play 2016's Dublin Hard Working Class Heroes showcase and Belfast's 2017 Output showcase & conference. With a busy festival season in 2017 and several Irish tours under their belt, they're about to hit the UK mainland for the first time before their next release.

Junk Drawer have received airplay and plaudits on BBC 6Music from Tom Robinson, BBC Radio 1's Phil Taggart, The Tipping Point, RTÉ's Dan Hegarty as well as BBC Across The Line and Electric Mainline's Steven McCauley, amongst others further afield.
