Biography

J. Appiah is a fast-rising acoustic soul singer and songwriter truly making an impact on the

British scene with his insightful lyricism and heartfelt vocals. J’s songwriting skills have helped

him to obtain collaborations with grime stars Scorcher, Fekky and Pepstar and major label

Aproducers like Sony BMG’s Pantha (Cheryl Cole, Wretch 32) and EMI’s Sunny Productions

(Professor Green, Chasing Grace). His professionalism stems from performing with established

acts like Will Young, Labrinth, Blur and the London Community Gospel Choir - and that solid

experience comes across in his music. In 2013 he released the E.P Studiocoustic featuring

the single I Aint Rich… Yet, which was featured on the BBC 1xtra introducing playlist. His

sound has been described as a mix of Angel and Ed Sheeran.
