Biography

At 25 years old, Hardwell, aka Robbert van de Corput is already one of the youngest and most powerful figures in EDM. Hailed as an award winning producer, label manager, musician and now ranked as the No.1 DJ in the world courtesy of DJ Mag, Hardwell has already left an everlasting imprint on the face of electronic music.

Hardwell hails from Breda, Holland, as does his mentor Tiesto. At the mere age of 13, Hardwell was already gaining notoriety for skills far beyond his years. After signing to a leading Dutch record label, Hardwell soon found himself DJing at some of Holland's hottest nightspots, eventually gaining worldwide notoriety with his smash hit bootleg “Show Me Love vs. Be” which became one of the biggest hits of 2009, and heralded the arrival of someone very special indeed.

Hardwell's signature big room sound soon began to take a firm foothold in the electronic music scene, with his trademark complex drum ensembles, daring synths, and emotive chords becoming notorious. His reputation as a supreme party starter, primed for big room destruction grew, as did his fanbase and status within the DJing community.

Hardwell's Revealed series on Cloud 9 records further added to his significance, followed by his very own radio show and podcast, Hardwell On Air, which is broadcasted on more than 25 international radio stations. The podcast is also a regular feature in the iTunes top 10 chart in over 30 countries, cementing Hardwell's worldwide appeal.

His momentum continued, with 2011 seeing Hardwell release monolithic tracks like 'Encoded', and the Tiesto collaboration 'Zero 76', gaining the number one slot on Beatport's world famous download chart.

Further number one hits followed in the shape of remixes for Rihanna, Example and The Wanted among others, and most notably festival anthem 'Young Blood', another collaboration with Tiesto, which promptly became a summer smash, defining 2012. With a slew of chart topping, stadium smashing singles released ever since, Hardwell has repeatedly proven his mettle as a producer.

His live show is similarly impressive. One needs to watch a brief snippet from his set at Tomorrowlands to realise just how majestic his live performances can be. With headlining sets at Electronic Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival, Electric Zoo, Creamfields, Tomorrowland, Mysteryland, Hardwell has consistently pleased crowds around the world with his full on rave fueled assaults, making him perhaps the most prestigious and in demand DJs of our generation, a driving force of EDM and figurehead for electronic music as a whole for a long time to come.
