Dubcentral is purely about all tribes coming together to listen to conscious, uplifting and vibrant music. We play Reggae / Roots / Dub / UK Steppas, listeners are from all backgrounds, male and female, from teenagers to elders and all leave with same smile on their face! It has to be said that the crowd and atmosphere is something very special in our sessions and one of the big reasons that Dubcentral is getting such a good reputation on the national scene.

We put on big all night reggae dances which are going down a storm with sound systems, guest and resident djs mcs , playing ska, roots, reggae but mostly dub, we link up to do bigger gigs with other promotion crews, The Dark Crystal, Feedback, The Junglist Alliance, Headcharge (check em.)

In December 2008 started our 'Dub In A Pub' sessions at The Harley Hotel, on the 4nd friday of the month. The Harley sessions brought roots and culture to the heart of the city center, featuring our residents, the cream of Sheffield's original reggae artists and some great talent such as YT, Bongo Chilli, Ablewell Foundation, Inspirational Sound, Instrument of Jah, Dubateers, Charlie P and many more!

We are committed to promoting Reggae and Roots music from the past 40 years to the present day, not just from JA, but the UK and all over the world, it's just gotta have the skank.

Origins: Started 17 years ago as a Sunday chill out session at the Vine Pub, with one little sound and a kaos pad, before hooking up with other young sounds (Riddimtion, Trouble and 4-Series) to put on the first session at the Everyone Centre, a night called One Love. The night with its hotchpotch of four small sounds cobbled together was certainly not the best soundsystem that's played there, but the night went off with a bang, and it inspired us to carry on and look for ways to improve the nights and sessions.

We wanted to bring sound Systems to Sheffield as for a long time there had been no big steppers scene here, so our first gig with Iration Steppas was an eye and ear opener for most people thru the door and people were hooked. Since then its been a long time of trying to keep things fresh, bringing new soundsystems and styles to the night, with our first non stepper night being an album launch for Dancehall giant Daddy Freddy with Underground Roots Soundsystem, other highlights include the Mad Proffessor live PA with Aisha, and of course Vibronics with Iration Soundsystem.
