Biography

Dirty Young Men, Est. 2010

Lazlo Hockerville - Vocals

Demetrius Paladisio - Guitar

Colin D'mingo Phillips - Bass

Mr Shniggles - Drums

"Established now as the 'go-to' act for when rock comes to Liverpool." - Mean Fiddler

"Next to play were punk band Dirty Vagrants. They gave the most raucous performance of the night with singer Lazlo Hockerville (great name) leading the way. They were heavy and energetic and the best track of their set was the catchy ‘Dead Man’s Shoes’. Worth checking out in the future." - Nicola Denton, www.ericslive.com

The name Dirty Vagrants corresponds well with the general demeanour of the band. They are a bunch of rowdy rapscallions who may be a bit harsh on the ears, but are also able to produce some honest, sincere and truly filthy music. Songs that they have pulled up from their place within the muck and the mire. The music itself carries infectious grooves and disarming melodies, lyrics concerning current affairs, and of course, plenty of faux white rap.

As far as looking back, it was way back in the year 2010 that these Vagrants assembled, making a concerted effort to spread the message of dirt throughout the world. However, the initial plan for "Dirt Aid" was unceremoniously scrapped by Sir Geldof, and thus, our four Dirtbags were resigned to go it alone. So go it alone they did, and they have since been working hard on making music that can engage and inspire, revolt and disgust, defy and corrupt. Throughout their short career they have so far had the pleasure of performing alongside many great bands such as Japanese Voyeurs, The Black Belles, Lafaro, Sucioperro, Jonny Foreigner, Okgo, Die So Fluid, The Datsuns and Duran Duran. All of these engagements had the effect of improving the Vagrant sound and enthusiasm dramatically, with the exception of Duran Duran, whose uncouth performance of "Rio" left nothing short of disappointment for all who were present.

So, along with our Vagrants, give dirt a chance and help spread the message to all who are willing to listen. Cleanliness is next to Godliness, whereas Filthyness is next to Sinfulness. We all know that there are diamonds in dirt, and all saints are secret sinners.
