DAZ O'NEILL (QBENSIS DJS, AMEN BREAKS)
"listening to one of Daz'd mixes brought a tear to my eye" Baobinga (myspace.com)
One half of Manchester breakbeat duo Qbensis DJ's (currently undergoing a trial separation), Daz O'Neill has been talking about himself in the 3rd person & playing Breakbeat in and around Manchester since the mid 00's
Having started DJ-ing relatively late in life Daz wasted no time steaming through his fledgling DJ career, winning DJ competitions (individually) and appearing on lineups
as part of Qbensis DJ's with DJ's he himself grew up listening to.
Inspired by this musical adventure Daz and fellow Qbensis DJ Col decided to set up and promote their own
club night (Amen Breaks) dedicated to giving relativly unknown DJ's their first breaks (pun absolutely intended),
with many of these DJ's becoming fixtures on the Manchester scene.
After a 3 year hiatus to concentrate on other projects, Daz reappeared batteries recharged and as a solo DJ on Nubreaks radio for an 18 month stint on the Madchester Bass show.
"I would describe my mixing style as inspired by the crowd, part of becoming a good DJ is the ability to understand what the crowd is after and give them shit loads of it!!"
