Burning Salt are Hannah Hull (vocals, guitar), Bobby Williams (electric guitar) and John Parker (double bass).
Their music is based round the startlingly honest songs of Hannah Hull, and her direct and distinctive voice. Fans have described her unusual vocal style as “scraped out of an ashtray somewhere in the early 90s,” and “Friday night meets Sunday morning.”
Poetic, raw and alive, their style draws on folk, country and blues. A dark and haunting trio of voice, guitar and double bass, in the vein of PJ Harvey, Nick Cave and Tom Waits.
