Formed in the summer of 2012, Bluesharks are a Leeds-based blues band playing a mixture of classic and modern blues.
The band features three Wolstenholme brothers (Ian, Adam and Max), along with Laura Morris, James Lynch and Graeme Cuthbertson. They have played together in various local bands for years but this line-up is new and the first time all six have been in the same band.
The Bluesharks feature a unique blend of three guitar sounds with Adam playing a Telecaster, Max a Les Paul and Graeme a Stratocaster. The guitarists share lead and rhythm duties, weaving in and out with powerful solos and melodic riffs. The rock-solid rhythm section features Ian on drums and James on bass. Adam and Laura provide the vocals.
The Bluesharks’ set features classics by Muddy Waters, BB King and the Stones mixed with less-obvious choices by artists including Primal Scream, The Doors, Robert Cray and Bruce Springsteen.
Bluesharks are regulars at Leeds Blues, a blues night which has been running at the Chemic Tavern, Johnson St, Woodhouse, since 2010 (see www.leedsblues.co.uk).
