Biography

Making moves in the music scene, Apster is bringing his talent to the masses and enthusing crowds around the world with his broad style and taste in music, from progressive house to filthy electro (as in his latest hit tracks Drum It and Blackbox).

Apster has built his career working with top fellow Dutch producers including Nicky Romero, Bassjackers, Firebeatz and Afrojack – who signed Apster immediately to his Wall Recordings label after hearing the track Bubble Gutz. Apster has also produced tracks and remixes for other international A-list artists, including Hardwell, Pitbull, Afrojack, Bingo Players and Jennifer Lopez.

Apster’s love for music came from an influence of his Morroccan heritage and Michael Jackson, R&B, funk and French hip-hop. Anything he sees, hears and experiences is an influence for raw material for his music.

His track Marrakech derives the eponymous name from his family’s original hometown and merges a traditional Morroccan music heritage with cutting-edge dance beats. An unforgettable night in Club Platinum on the Australian Gold Coast led to the track Goldcoast, “Australia is a fantastic country with a wonderful and exciting atmosphere in the clubs. I wanted to incorporate both the burning sun and the hot night life in a track to give people that experience I felt through my music,” said Apster.

Apster’s love for dance started with a cassette mix tape by legendary Dutch DJ’s including Dimitri and Marcello. Early on Apster started experimenting with music software Fruity Loops and Atomix.mp3, and succeeded in placing tracks with Spinnin’ Records, Mixmash, Samsobeats and Wall Recordings.

Apster’s DJ career stared in clubs in a small town in the south of Holland, Tilburg, headlining nights for packed crowds and also performing with Marlon Flohr of Bassjackers. His biggest DJ career move at age 20 was opening for Afrojack – with excited crowds ready for more, this secured his decision to make music for the global dance scene. Apster said “I took a deep breath and went for it. The crowd response was so magical that I decided then and there that I wanted to be a DJ for the rest of my life.”

Having now played at the hottest scenes around the world from Las Vegas, Miami, Ibiza, Turkey, Spain, France, Morocco and Australia, Apster is making hits and securing his place in electronic dance music history.
