Based in South London, Aaron Akpojaro, the 24-year old singer, songwriter and producer behind Cures and Curses, spent the last few years blazing an anthemic trail with a series of single releases, with January 2022’s ‘Tides’ earning him critical acclaim from numerous publications (DSCVRD, Pictor, 1883, Dead Good and more), national and international radio airplay, and a spot on Gigwise’s ‘Ones to Watch’ list. Appearances on the roster of Rip It Up and LIMF Academy, acclaimed talent incubators, further cement the promise shown by this potent young artist.

This September will see the first big statement of intent from Cures and Curses - a 7-track EP titled ‘Liberate Me’. Book-ended by the aforementioned ‘Tides’ and previous single ‘Room In My Head’, the record deals in the same eclectic energy that has anchored the artist’s entire repertoire. The release will be paired with an accompanying live recording: ‘Liberate Me: The Concert Film’. Lead single ‘Empty Love’ is a rousing return, with a soaring singalong hook and a guitar riff best described as infuriatingly catchy.
