Severnside Theatre Ensemble presents the European Première of John F. Delorey's musical documentary-drama Witchwife: Requiem for Susanna Martin at the John Moore Theatre, Kings School, Worcester, starring Joan Self as Susanna Martin, Sue Black as Mabel Martin and Claire Johnson as Mercy Lewis. Also featuring Eleanor Peberdy and Tim Johnson.

Performance dates are 15 & 16 August 2008 @ 7.30pm.

Venue: The John Moore Theatre at the King's School, Worcester.

Witchwife tells the true story of the trial of Susanna Martin, who was accused of witchcraft and executed during the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. The drama unfolds in words and music of the period.

American composer John F. Delorey is a direct descendant of Susanna Martin. He is currently Director of Choral Activities at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts, USA. Professor Delorey, along with four members of his original American cast, will be joining Severnside Theatre Ensemble for the European Première of Witchwife.

The first half of the evening's programme will consist of modern interpretations of the Susanna Martin story, including the World Première of a New-Age Soundscape by Coventry musician Stein Fletcher.

This production of Witchwife is in aid of ACORNS CHILDREN'S HOSPICE TRUST. There are three ACORNS hospices: in Worcester, Walsall and Birmingham. They provide much-needed care and support for life-limited children and their families. ACORNS relies on the generosity of the public for over 80% of its income, so please support Witchwife and help us raise money for this very deserving charity.
