This extraordinary exhibition will be showcasing a celebration of over 112 years of British Olympic and Paralympic sailing heritage enabling you to immerse yourself in the triumph and glory of our sailing past and celebrate Britains unique Olympic and Paralympic sailing legacy.
Retail Zone
With over 50 retail tents and a variety of space only sites, the Weymouth Bayside Festival will provide a retail experience to meet every budget. From local food and drinks to local artists and craftsmen and women, plus fashion outlets, accessories and gifts this is the perfect spot for thoughtful gifts and mementos.
Featuring breath-taking demonstrations of skateboards, inline skates, BMX and scooter acrobatics from the UKs finest. Included in the zone will be a climbing wall and park area that will allow people to get stuck in and have a go.
We are delighted that the Bayside Festival will feature the Royal Marines climbing wall, an RAF aircraft cockpit display and Army tracked vehicle.
With a capacity of 3,000 the arena will host an entire programme of free-to-view activities and demonstrations throughout the day, before switching to concert mode each evening. The arena will showcase named acts at what will be the most vibrant and largest open air venue in Weymouth.
With big screens in both the Main Arena and the Acoustic zone, visitors can stay up to date with all the latest news and action from all the Olympic venues.
A smaller stage and arena, providing live entertainment throughout the day and evenings, with a mix of Jazz, acoustic and small bands coupled with street entertainers, to entertain the crowds in an informal manner.
The Weymouth Bayside Festival is delighted to announce that classic cruise ship MV Balmoral will also be visiting these hallowed waters, during the Olympic period; offering visitors the chance to get afloat, enjoy the Jurassic coast and see some of the action on the water.
