Creamfields is certainly pulling out all the stops for this their 10th Anniversary year, with an evergrowing line up that has pushed the festival to another level.

We can announce that the latest additions are indie dance innovator Erol Alkan and leading hip hop DJ Switch.

Anarchic, eclectic and unique are some of the words used to describe uber cool DJ Erol Alkan, he first came into prominence through his renowned club night Trash back in 97, expect to hear anything from soul, techno, Kitsch, punk or electro…if he thinks it’ll take the roof off, he’ll play it.

DJ Switch is a hip hop genius with an ear for beats, championed by the likes of Masters At Work and Giles Peterson, his unique approach to production has built him a reputation as a producer that delivers cuts with elements of funk and soul, which continuously impresses the underground elite.

This years Creamfields line up has been described by Virtual Festivals as “the most imaginative line up this summer”.  Becoming a 2 day event and putting together the best electronic line up of the Summer whilst adding some fresh acts that cross the dance, rock, indie divide are why Creamfields has remained the UK’s best dance festival.

And with a running order that includes everyone from Kasabian, Fatboy Slim, Ian Brown, Paul van Dyk, Tiesto, Pendulum, Underworld, Gossip, Soulwax, Simian Mobile Disco and Chic Featuring Nile Rodgers, only cements Creamfields’ position as THE festival of the Summer.

As one of the UK’s biggest groups, Kasabian have garnered massive success with their legendary live shows, captivating crowds with their anthems and securing them as festival favourites. Their last album ‘Empire’ went in straight in at No.1 and has sold in excess of 700,000 copies to date.

Norman ‘jack-of-all-genres’ Cook, the man behind Fatboy Slim, is one of the most popular producers of all time and another sensational addition to the Creamfields line up. Fatboy Slim’s eponymous shows have gone down in history and we are bursting to see his LIVE set at Creamfields!

North-west maestro Ian Brown - whose solo music and time with The Stone Roses defined a generation will top off an exciting live bill and is another artist reflective of the Creamfields dream. The festival has also spearheaded a genre and defined the sound of a generation and we can’t wait to hear what’s in store..

Live sensations The Gossip are another buzzing addition who are described as an act beyond compare. Led by charismatic lead vocalist Beth Ditto who was voted number 1 in NME’s cool list, their energetic live shows will take the ‘fields by storm!

Soulwax are the hottest dance act to come out of Belgium, multi skilled masters as famous for their alter ego 2 MANY DJS and original remixes as they are for their eponymous live shows. Australian bred Pendulum have caused a storm in the live arena, compared to legendary masters The Prodigy the band have toured the world and will set the stage alight just like the Firestarters that preceeded them!  Simian Mobile Disco are known for their chic minimalism and addictive hooks – they’ve enjoyed extensive plays of their eponymous singles ‘It’s the Beat’ and ‘Hustler’.

Top off the live bill with the ultimate band guaranteed to get everyone dancing, we welcome Chic featuring the legend that is Nile Rodgers!  An act that need no introduction – but here’s one anyway because we can’t help but gush! The career of Nile Rodgers is one of the most prolific in music, He has worked with everyone from David Bowie to Joss Stone and is the man behind Madonnas ‘Like a Virgin’. His trademark sound has been heard by billions of people and he is bringing his disco magic to Creamfields.

The DJ roster this year at Creamfields is as exceptional as ever and a must for all dance lovers, we are thrilled to welcome back some favourite faces along with fresh talent.

Paul Van Dyk has received more awards than we could possibly reel off for his enigmatic DJ sets that have earned him a legendary reputation and an army of followers who flock to his 6-hour sets. DJ Magazine voted him ‘Best Music Maker’ and Creamfields cant wait for him to keep us up all night!

Tiesto will be flying in to join us and he is a man after our own heart, his DJ career reads as a series of landmark achievements – he was the first DJ in the world to sell out a solo stadium event for over 25,000 people 2 nights in a row, he scored a number one hit with his single ‘Traffic’ and played live in front of billions of people during the opening of the Olympic games in Athens.

Platinum selling artist Erick Morillo has turned his hand to everything, DJ, producer and label owner, he has remixed everyone from Whitney Houston to Basement Jaxx and is one of the most in demand DJs in the world.  Erick joins Paul Oakenfold on the line up, Paul defined the Balearic Sound in Ibiza and brought it back to UK soils, he went onto become Cream’s legendary resident DJ!

Innovative DJ and producer Sasha was a central figure in bringing electronic music to the UK music scene and creating clubland as we know it today. Sasha is a main player who has remixed classic tracks for artists like Chemical Brothers and Madonna.

David Guetta made his Creamfields mark back in 2005 when he played alongside the Chemical Brothers and Carl Cox, he has toured internationally as an acclaimed innovator of dance and we can’t wait to have him back!

Creamfield’s 08 will be spread over 10 unique arenas and we are bursting with excitement about some new friends joining us this year, we welcome the SKINS Arena, the coolest show on TV will be hosting an exclusive arena of infectious beats for those with a hedonistic philosophy, electro upstarts SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA, leading drum & bass night APE, and the RADIO 1 ‘INTRODUCING’ BUS which will be rolling onto site bringing you some big sounds from some of the UK’s hottest new and emerging acts.

Returning arena hosts include CREAM & GOODGREEF / CHIBUKU & ANNIE MAC PRESENTS / TIDY / SUBLIMINAL / HOSPITALITY ARENA HOSTED BY CREAM & HACIENDA and of course the return of the legendary MAIN STAGE.

And it doesn’t stop there, we've still got loads more acts to announce so watch this space over the coming weeks!

This years incredible line up marks a new era for Creamfields and a new era for dance festivals.  Never before has a festival with the calibre of Creamfields embraced such sensational live bands, breathing fresh life into the festival calendar, showcasing another reason why Liverpool won the European Capital of Culture accolade.

Creamfields are delighted to have Radio 1 on board this year for exclusive coverage throughout the event broadcasting an array of sensational live music to celebrate their first year with us at our new home in Daresbury! Stay tuned to be the first to hear fresh announcements in the run up to the festival that embodies what August Bank Holiday was made for!
