Lineup and details for Ghost Hunt - Ghost Hunting at Margam Castle on Saturday 10th March 2012
This very haunted location is a must for ghost hunters.
It is reported as the most haunted location in Wales. Paranormal activity includes both sound and visual activity aswell as great poltergeist phenomena.
Compass Paranormal Events have full access to the site for this exclusive ghost hunt.
Margam Castle is an impressive Castle with a dramatic backdrop. After many years of disrepair It is only of recent years that it has been reoccupied. The volume of paranormal reportings coming from the location on a regular basis add to its mystery and intrigue. It is said that the castle could be a strong contender for most haunted property in Britain.
The property is built on the site of an ancient Iron age settlement, and its majestic stature dominates the surrounding countryside. It is truely a striking piece of Gothic architecture.
Once building work was completed Margam Castle was the family home to the Talbot's. They were wealthy people and employed house staff, groundskeepers and workmen, all of whom were housed in the Castle. The Talbot family occupied the Castle until the outbreak of war in 1939.
It was then that the castle was sold and bought by David Evans-Bevan. Due to the sheer size of the property and surrounding land, he found it difficult to take care of it, and the property was finally requisitioned and used by British and American forces during World War Two.
In the years to follow the end of the war the Castle began to fall into disrepair and was finally acquired by Glamorgan Council and restored during the 1970's. Today the Castle can be visited all year round as a tourist attraction. The house is still staffed 24 hours a day by a dedicated staff, many of whom have bore witness to some truly terrifying encounters and all have their own stories to tell.
There are many reports of a spirit who is beleived to be Robert Scott. He was employed as the gamekeeper at the house for many years. It is reported that Scott was murdered by a poacher and his angry spirit still wanders the grounds today. His ghostly apparition is often seen walking down the Gothic staircase leading to the Castle. His presence is often reported by Psychic Mediums, all insisting his spirit is consumed with rage over his untimely and unjust killing.
There are regularly reports of the sound of giggling children echoing through the long corridors and rooms of the family areas. There have also been sightings of children in Victorian dress drifting in and out of doorways and mischievously moving objects.
The dominating figure of what is beleived to be the blacksmith is a familiar sighting to many of the gamekeepers and gardening staff who maintain the vast castle grounds. Even the night security guards often report sounds of running footsteps and chattering voices, but can give no explanation due there being no living intruder.
Reports of cold spots and orbs are a very common phenomena in the Castle, it appears the Castle and surrounding grounds is a haven of psychic energy.
Projectiles have been thrown at many who have conducted seances and endeavour to communicate with the spirits. Perhaps the most violent and angry spirit is reported to be that of Robert Scott who is said to have slammed doors and hurled projectiles, and emit a foreboding presence.
