Ricky Tomlinson’s Laughter Show comes to Stocksbridge “A rare opportunity to enjoy traditional stand-up in a live setting.” – Andrew Johnston, CultureNorthernIreland.org Ricky Tomlinson’s Laughter Show comes to The Venue, Stocksbridge on 18th October and he is joined by comedians Duncan Norvelle, Tony Barton andPauline Daniels, for an evening of unbelievable comedy. Comedy actor, Ricky Tomlinson, best known for his roles in The Royle Family, Brookside and Boys from the Blackstuff, takes on a new challenge of stand-up comedy. The show has been touring up and down the country in 2008 and finally makes its stop off at The Venue, a new community/ performing arts centre in Stocksbridge, Sheffield. Camp comic and impressionist, Duncan Norvelle was a familiar face on TV in the 1980’s, after he chose to pursue a career in entertainment at the tender age of 16. His catchphrase ‘Chase Me’ got him noticed all those years ago and is still remembered today. You may remember Tony Barton from his 1960’s act The Barton Brothers, who toured the national club scene for many years alongside acts such as Roy Orbison and Tom Jones. More recently Tony is best known for his acting roles in Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Last of the Summer Wine. Pauline Daniels completes the line up as one of the UK’s finest female stand-up comediennes, having also appeared in Brookside playing the character of Maria Benson and in Bread, one of the best loved British sitcoms. The night starts at 8pm with tickets priced at £17.50.
