ASH BOODHOO (Rootsound Collective, Leicester)
Ash Boodhoo began listening to rave and jungle in 1991. He started to DJ in 1997 and hosted a variety of parties at The Park Drain in Westwoodside where he lived.
In 2000 Ash Boodhoo moved to Leicester where he continued to DJ drum and bass through to old skool jungle, gaining numerous residences at nights such as Viroid, Piojin, and Jazzzaholics Anonymous. The music Ash loves gained more meaning when he discovered reggae music and original dubplates, which a lot of rave and jungle sampled. Now he is one of the founding members of Rootsounds - Reggae and Dub Collective, and went on build a reggae soundsystem with the collective, which was the pinnacle of his achievements.
NU-SHOT(Planet Bass/Feedback)
Back in 1993 Nu-Shot started listening to DJ’s like Ratty, Seduction, DJ SS, Top Buzz and loved ‘jungle techno styles’. He became heavily into the underground scene going to many infamous Exodus raves and Dreamscape, Helter Skelter and One Nation at Sanctuary in Milton Keynes. Nu-Shot is now a resident at Planet Bass in Luton (www.myspace.com/planetbassdnb) and Feedback.
CHAPPY (Feedback)
Chappy is a 27 year old stoner stuck in the golden days of raving. His favored styles are 1992-1995 U.K old skool, jungle and also loves trance from 94-97 influenced by M Zone and Mark EG from the Dizstruxion/Uprising days. Chappy was an NY Sushi soldier and regular. Chappy has been a resident at Feedback since 2005 and also makes regular appearances at Future Breaks in Luton.
JIM FURY (sheffield fact or fiction?)
Started listening to dance music very early 90's, back when hardcore was basically all there was. Got into all the usuals - dj sy, hype, ratty, mickey finn, top buzz, etc. Took to clubbing & the 1210's in 93/94 when i started college - artists like Dj Crystal, Foul play, Omni trio & Bukem blew me away. I caught the record bug just as jungle kicked off for the first time. I trawled record shops every week, and decided that production's where all the real magic happens so bought a sampler and dusted off an old atari. Cue nysushi & drum & bass's big second wave when i move to Sheffield. I'm still buying plenty of records but ambitions now in production. and they're still there now...
