Speed Hating and Heartbreak Disco listings

What's worse than being single on Valentines Day? Being single on Valentines Day and sobbing into your lonely pillow of tears before wiping the ice cream off your face and stumbling out into the night to find another lonely soul to have disappointing sex with, that's what.

Well, here at The Harley we're cutting out the pillow and ice-cream and instead offering Sheffield's bitter singletons a chance to rant.

Speed Hating is just like Speed Dating, except it takes everything embarrassing away and replaces it with hate.

From 9pm we'll be hosting Sheffield's first ever Speed Hating. When you arrive we'll give you a new awful persona - "Phyliss, meet Algernon". Then you have four minutes each time to chat to the stranger sat across from you about things which really annoy you.

There'll be a Wall of Meaningless Encounters, so if a fellow lonely loser for some reason takes your fancy, you'll be able to leave them a note and maybe find love in a hopeless place.

More likely than not though, you'll have just had a bit of a laugh.

The night will then seamlessly morph into the ultimate heartbreak disco. If the lyrics are about being alone/heartbroken, we'll play it.

So single people of Sheffield, descend on The Harley this Valentines, where we will celebrate all there is about being miserable. I can guarantee we'll end up having more fun than the smug couples eating over priced food at a chain restaurant.

You might even find another lonely soul to have disappointing sex with.

Speed Hating tickets need to be bought in advance from the bar. Just £2 a pop. Available from 1st February, from The Harley.

If you're just coming for the Heartbreak Disco, that'll cost £2 on the door. So you may as well come Speed Hating too.
