Love travel and want to write about it? Then this introductory 1/2 day workshop is for you. During this workshop you will be introduced to different types and styles of travel writing, guided through the writing process, and explore the publishing opportunities out there.

Workshop outline
What is the workshop about?
This workshop introduces those new or with little travel writing experience, to basic writing techniques, tools and approaches. During the workshop attendees will explore and discuss various types of travel writing, and the marketing and publication opportunities out there.

- Generating ideas
- Tools of the trade
- Identifying your audience
- Researching and writing your article
- Marketing and publication opportunities
- Next steps
By the end of this workshop you should be able to:
- Demonstrate a wider understanding of the world of travel writing
- Understand what makes a good travel article
- Identify opportunities in the marketplace
- Start a travel writing article.
What level is the workshop and do I need any particular skills?
This is an introductory course. You will need a reasonable standard of English to keep up with the course, and enthusiasm for writing and discussion.
How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?
Tutor inputs, based on her experience; tasks and activities; discussion. No outside work.
Is there anything I need to bring?
If possible bring along a piece of writing, or a book (non-fiction or fiction) by a travel writer you admire and a pen and paper.
