Lineup and details for Collect! on Saturday 11th February 2012
Techno and House for the people - The big push continues.
Lest we forget this defining point in local folklore, I suggest your gaze to what is going on around you. The city we inhabit is becoming once again a place of note in the shiny electronic music world we frequent.
Dont underestimate it or take it for granted because there is an opportunity here to create a real dent and the support the local nights get mean weve all been able to book amazing people for you (and us) to dance around to and even a few years ago it would have been impossible.
We could have a real beast on our hands.
So to make a democratic stand, here is a small, but by no means exhaustive list of nights we reckon you should check out as well as ours-
Downlo 28/01/12 - Drumroll 3/02/12 De-Bug 10/02/12 Cargo 10/03/12 STI (generally), Ryad 27/1/12.
Collect! is extremely proud to welcome your presence at a little soirée including musical entertainment from Italy with the Frequenza Records bosses, Alex Delia + Nihil Young plus a fully improvised live pa from Londons Saytek played from the middle of the dance floor. Itchy Pig are celebrating their first birthday in style in the second room with No Matter What's co-owner James Johnston, Development Musics co-man Mike O'Mara and of course the Itchy host Sir Vinyl Instinct.
These lot are quality geezers as well as being some of my personal favourites and they fully deserve the big Collect! welcome, theres some serious pedigree involved. You wont be disappointed my friends, the Frequenza boys really pack a punch and Saytek live is something to behold.
The Weights Room will once again be driven deep by Itchy Pig Records. The label has gone from strength to strength and this is their first birthday. In The Pipe Room we are continuing to showcase other nights and labels as we welcome a night from Manchester called Hold It Down. More smart bookings to be announced in these departments.
Dalen Light will be hosting the pre-bar event again in our new favourite bar/cafe- Brezza. Its a really nice spot that I strongly recommend you visit anyway but all the more reason when all kinds of deep house beats are being bashed out by Carl Dean, Nic James and friends. A better way to break yourself in I doubt exists.

Alex Delia
Being the creator of brands like Frequenza, Frequenza Limited and Ready 2 Rock, Alex D'elia stands for Quality Techno, Tech House and Minimal music. He's responsible for the pioneering of a new wave of minimal sounds and progressive, trancy melodies over pumping techno beats. Expect big stuff coming from him for he, along with a FEW others, is changing the sorts of the Italian underground scene in just 2 years after the creation of his main Labels Frequenza Records!
Nihil Young
Nihil Young (87) is one of the most prolific and brilliant sound creators from the italian new school. Mainly techno and tech house oriented, but fascinated by melodies from the classics and the trance and progressive movement, in addition to the grooves and basslines of quality classic funk and electronic hip hop from the 70s and the 80s. His tracks and productions are being played by artists such as Len Faki, Pan-Pot, Format:B, Monika Kruse, Umek, Carl Cox, Dubfire, John Acquaviva, Paco Osuna, Sebastien Leger, Fergie, Richie Hawtin, Tiesto, Mark Knight, Fatboy Slim and many others. James Johnston
Kolour, Under The Shade, Dikso, 4Lux are some of the few to have been blessed to hold releases from the Glaswegian house demon know as James Johnston. Co-running No Matter What with Alex Agore, it's a wonder this man finds time to make music. His first track received the most popular deep house track award of all time and his music can be seen in many compilations flying around 'serious heads' collections. Credited by many of the great artists around, you are sure to enjoy the movement that will be created on the floor.
Mike O'Mara
Head honcho at Manchester's Development Music record label. He has also played alongside many names that are household in the music business today and has released music for people like Alex Agore (who co-runs the label with James Johnston so this should work well for sure), Mr Scruff and Domu. Get your dancing boots shined and primed as this is definitely going to be one to remember.
