I've seen Xiu Xiu at the Bowery in New York. Shearwater opened for them. These two bands seem to be joined at hip. The acceptable side of pop music as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah got support sorted for this and all the other gigs coming up in the near future. Usually ask local bands to get behind the touring band, especially those who see it as opportunity to promote themselves and add a good band to the list they played with.

DTVGE 'do something akin to what sections of the press were calling "puzzle-pop" at one point, kind of jarring post-rock stylings only with actual tunes' (ManchesterMusic.com)

Model Warships' influences are PostSecret, Frog Eyes, Xiu Xiu, Sufjan Stevens, The Music Tapes, Throbbing Gristle, Sunset Rubdown, Prurient. Whitehouse, Martin Grech, This Song Is a Mess, Idlewild, Radiohead, Bright Eyes, Casiotone for the Painfully Alone.

The NME reviewed our gig in this weeks NME. It pretty well sums up the show. I'll post the full report later when i bit more focused (been at an all-night party).
